Sunday, August 26. 2007The Last HurrahIt's with much regret that I have to announce that I'm going to retire from the sharp end of the PSP homebrew scene. The betrayal of trust that preceded the Pandora release was extremely hurtful, and has left me unable to fully trust the people I'd previously enjoyed working so hard with. And so, I have had to decide to stop working on projects that require that level of trust. Besides that, life continues to be very busy in the run up to fatherhood, and there are various non-PSP projects that I'd like to play with. Not to mention the fact that I'm tired of the continual pressure and idiocy of the PSP scene - long gone are the fun days of pioneering amongst like minds, in a mutually supportive and gentlemanly environment. The Pandora Battery therefore marks my last major PSP project. I expect that Team C+D and Noobz will continue to release stuff without me, and I still hope to finish up some of the non-exploit projects that I'd been working on (Installotron, piKey etc.). It was a fun ride while it lasted. Comments

Today the PSP god decided to retire and I'm sad. You retire cause somenone betrayed you. And the most important thing is trust... I wish you all the best for your fatherhood, and the rest of your personnal projects. To the betrayer: Are you happy? Comment (1)

Sad to see to you leave the scene Fanjita but given the circumstances, I can fully understand why.
Best of luck in the future. You've made a huge impact on the PSP scene and will never be forgotten. Comment (1)
Thanks for everything. You always replied to my pm's. No matter how noobish the question was. I had so much fun with the eloader. Thanks for Pikey. Thanks for Pandora. And everything else. Have a fun parenthood and hope to see you around QJ.

Sad to see you go! If it wasn't for you, my PSP would be long gone by now! Thanks for the fun times and good luck in your future endeavors.

A shame it had to come to this, but I fully understand your choice. With the brewing war and everything, you are wise to step away.
Goog luck with your new family:) I wish you all the best World peace Comment (1)
Wish you all the luck in your life and especially your fatherhood. We lost a great man, and we all gonna miss you..

Fanjita, this is sad news to hear. i am glad that you came to my rescue today in my thread at qj. I have always been a big fan of yours. when I come to the uk later this year, would you like to go out for a couple of cold ones. I really want to show my appreciation for you. I will be donating very soon as I am out of work but expecting a large settlement from being hit by a drunk driver. I would like to be able to give you that in person(donation that is). You have remained the level head of dev's in the scene. I hope that you are not totally leaving the scene and continue to be a source of inspiration to us all.
You will be dearly missed, SooperGooman Comment (1)
This can't be true, after all Fanjita has done to the scene. First Dark_Alex now Fanjita.
Stupid noobs spoiling everything.... I hate those leakers, gah. But thank you so much fanjita, eloader, pikey, pandora's battery, 2.8x hacks, TA-082 hacks. OMG, there's only a few legends.... Now who's going to stay in this scene. The leaker that released the Kickstart MUST be punished. How does it happen that he was so high in the scene that he had access to everything, i can't understand that. Bye Fanjita. It's with a teardrop. Comment (1)
Tnx for all the homebrew goodness you gave us
and good luck being a daddy greetz ravenslayer Comment (1)
I've not been on the PSP scene long, but I've been on long enough to know the impact and sheer enjoyment you've given to 1000's of PSP users. Thank you, and have a good rest of your life.
Comment (1)
It will be sad to see you go just like that, but didn't you die of malaria once?
I do hope you continue producing Pikey (If those didnt read properly, he said he's leaving the SHARP edge. Not all together) I do hope those leakers die a horrible death, they just ruin every thing. If pandora wasnt leaked, you would still be here. The slim would most likely still be hackable. Good luck in the other half of development Comment (1)
dude, you were the first developer person i read about when i first got interested int he PSP homebrew scene, and i followed all your releases. Thanx so much for always trying to bring all the unaware and noob-y psp users into the awesome homebrew world. you always had good intentions for the the PSP users out there. sucks to hear u got betrayed...
seriously though all the best with ur personal ventures and ur famile! =D Comment (1)
Thanks for everything you've done for the PSP, it was great watching from the sidelines.
With the things you've given us, the PSP scene can always keep moving forward without ever slowing down. And good luck with that kid of yours Comment (1)
i agree
nobody should be forced to conduct a hobby under pressure from the morons and twats that plague qj and other sites you and dark alex should have just made it really difficult to downgrade, so all of the halfwits brick their psp's while trying! thanks for all the hacks and apps, you are a true credit to the homebrew scene Comment (1)
Thank you so very much for all your contributions to the PSP scene. I used to used your E-loader FOREVER until I got a downgrader to 1.50.
You will be much missed, as you've become a household name around here. Best of luck to you and your family, you deserve the best. Comment (1)
It sure is sad to see you go. But you did leave with a bang, as Pandora's battery is the most amazing thing I've seen yet. You are definately retiring a champion.
I've only been following the scene for a year, but I've been a fan of yours since the goofy exploit. But I have been around long enough to see it go from being about fun to international teams fighting, backstabbing, leaking etc... There are some strange things going on, and I'm sure I don't know that half of it, since you're right there in the middle of it. I don't know you, but I wish you the best in fatherhood, other projects and life in general. You don't know me, but you have had a part in making my PSP way more interesting than SONY ever intended Thanks for everything! i113 Comment (1)
Thanks for all your hard work and good luck on your newest "project". I understand you because - let's face it - fatherhood is better than any computer oriented developement (and effects lasts longer).
Comment (1)
I have been following your progress on the PSP since I got mine.
It has been a joy to read all about your achievements in PSP programing, and nice to see your level of dedication. I understand totally and agree with you about making more time for your soon to be bigger family. Thanks for everything Comment (1)
Fanjita I will personally miss you in the scene. You always had my out most respect and will continue. I remember 1 in half ago i wrote some question and you were like
Bam with letter & my question was answered. So Again Later and better roads is what I say. Stay cool & THANKS........... Comment (1)
It a shame that all good things must come to an end. Thanks you Fangita for all your work. And here I am wishing you many lucks into your next setps, what ever they maybe.
Comment (1)
Thanks for the Pandora!!! Sad to see you leaving
Comment (1)
Thank you for your releases. Your eloader granted me and others to homebrew on GTA:VC and had constructed the path that everyone today follows.
Comment (1)
Thanx Fanjita, we are gonna miss you.
Comment (1)
Ever since Dark_Alex left i looked to you as #1. Even before Dark_Alex left i looked at both of yall as #1. Now who am i supposed to look for. I am happy that you want to spend time with your family and maybe you will come back and find that trust again with a new team. Like you and Dar-Alex come back. That would be the rising day in Homebrew history.

Another great one leaves the PSP scene.
For good reasons, too. Enjoy fatherhood, and thanks for all you've done for us PSP homebrewers. You will be missed. Comment (1)
Oh and thanks for ALL you have done for the homebrew scene. Good luck in all you do. May God Be with you and your family.
Comments (2)
I salute you, sir.
You have my utmost respect and admiration, and quite frankly I'm shocked you stayed as long as you did, seeing how ungrateful people can be. Good luck. Comment (1)
I used ur Eloader for GTA since its release, and have followed ur releases ever since. U saved me from a long time without homebrew, thx. Sad to see you leave the scene, but goodluck on fatherhood.
Comment (1)
Thanks for everything, Fanjita. It's really sad to see you go as well. Enjoy your time with your family and don't mind those evil doing persons... I'm sure they'll get what they have coming and it won't be pretty.
Comment (1)
Sorry to hear about you leaving. I understand you decision. Being new to the Homebrew scene myself, i just started to learn who all the great devs were. good luck on your fatherhood. Thanks for everything.
Comment (1)
I can still remember buying my first PSP on my well deserved day off, coming home, going online to find the Qj.net PSP-Scene and the first name I seen behind that. ! Fanjita ! You brought me excitement using my Nintendo Emulator replaying old and beloved games. All from a great home brew program called Eboot Loader v0.9 brings you back huh.
You're the greatest in my opinion, with your knowledge, home brew, views, and respect that you gave. I hope all the best for you and your family. Extreamly thankful, Daniel a.k.a (HYde) Comment (1)
Thanks alot Fanjita. I appreciated your releases. I, like all the people so far commenting you, will miss you too. Good luck with fatherhood =]
Comment (1)
Aww man, this cant be true, first DA leaves, then Mathieulh, then your project is leaked, pile on the fact that the admin of one of my favorite sites for the last 6 years just decided to leave and shut down the site, and now you leave, damn im having a bad week. Thanks for everything you've done man, without you, i wouldnt have kept my psp, you will never be forgotten. Good luck man, and i wish you a happy life.

3 cheers for fanjita (what does your name mean anyway??)
HipHip HURRAH! HipHip HURRAH! HipHip HURRAH! Thank you sir, you've done a great thing for a great number of people. Comment (1)
It's real sad to see you leave... More than a great coder you were one of the nicest persons I ever saw in a forum...
I got in the band wagon with the early releases of Eboot loader and it made me re-appreciate all the good times I had playing my Nes as a kid... Later you'd invite me to mod at PSPU... Though we never knew each other properly I'll miss you... Best of luck mate! Comment (1)
Pfft, probably got sniped by sony like d_a.
Comment (1)
sad to see a very very talented guy like you to leave the scene, but well, that's life...
Thanks for all the years of effort, and I truly wish you the best on your future projects and life! Comment (1)
Fanjita, C+D, Noobz: Thank-you for making thousands upon thousands of our handhelds' into super-handhelds!
Thanks for your dedication, Fanjita - you may well have made the right decision. I admire you beyond anything else for your dedication to family life. I think it's great that you are willing to leave behind the scene for something much more important and beautiful. That's why I'm going to donate a few pounds and perhaps buy a few cards from your wifes' shop. Best of luck, say hello to your family for me! (Or not, it might not be the best idea). Piers. Comment (1)
It is sad news to see that your leaving some of the more important aspects of the homebrew scene, but with a history like yours in the PSP scene I'm sure your legend will live.
Not to mention you said that one of my favorite projects will continue to recieve support, PiKey. Too bad you or someone else hasn't help zx-81 on things like PSPoste since I would love to be able to use my keyboard with those programs. Anyways, thanks for all you have given us. It is projects like PiKey that convinced me to go back to using homebrew on my PSP, sure custom firmware made it easier since it dealt with the issue of needing to launch devhook before playing a game, but really it was projects like PiKey that made it worthwhile. Comment (1)
Best of luck. Appreciate all the hard work and innovations you've contributed.
Comment (1)
well u left fo a good reason and i hope nobody is gonna start saying u neve did any work or anything like d.a. but from wat is see noobz and team c+d are going out.
i hope u have a nice father hood Comment (1)
Well, like everyone else, it's sad to see you go. I was always a fan of eLoader. I never needed to use any of the Downgraders, but, it has been awesome that you have donated so much time for people and their PSP's. I hope you have continued success with your future and current endeavors. Fatherhood is the best. Thanks for Pandoras battery....now we can all do pretty much anything with our PSP's with out the fear of bricking. Thanks!
Comment (1)
Thanks for all what you have done! Enjoy the little one man! Congrats!!!
Just know that they guys on Warship Amphibious LHD-6 says thanks to and good luck with future endevours! *i have a feeling i'll see your name pop up somewhere else in the near future!!! iphone? mogul? hmmmmmm Comment (1)
I'm sorry to see you go, I'm sorry for all the flaming that stupid people did, I'm sorry for all the haters, I'm sorry for all those who are sad to see you go, I'm sorry for anything I've done that was unsupportive, but most of all, I wish to say thank you, and may the rest of your life bring you as much pleasure as being one of the best people ever to grace the PSP scene.
hip hip Hurray hip hip Hurray hip hip Hurray... Comment (1)
You're right Mr.Fanjita...
but I want to tell you that your exploits was very great, especially the Pandora's Battery...It's really amazing, I never thought that it was possible to use a battery to downgrade and unbrick PSPs... As a PSP Developper beginner I want to ask a simple question : How did you Learn PSP Development ? I know it is based on C/C++ language, but there's a big difference between programming in a PC C/C++ program and a PSP C/C++ program... Thank you Comment (1)
Thanks for all the great things You have done.....I haven't been around the PSP scene that long but it has been a great run and yet another legend retires....
I wish you the best of luck as a Father.... Betrayal is really something that can hurt us most just remember that there are others that are still there which you can trust. Comment (1)
dam this sucks lets all knock out the betrayer anyways good luck buddie we will miss you
Comment (1)
Thanx fanjita, I appreciate all your hard work you have done for FREE. man i hope you got a little donation here and there. I, myself would expect at least a little, you should of just release the kickstart battery yourself, and get like $30-40 a pop! I know thats wasnt your intentions though, It was the loving community scene that gave you motive to keep going. And I have to admit...I was with you in the start, when you first got hello world going, and the scene back then was awesome...Now its just a bunch of pirates that think they can tell you what to code, but cant code anything themselves! Anyways thank you again you are the #1PSPicon and i hope you can be #1DAD too! good luck in all you do.

Are you really quiting? If so, that's not only bad news for all the people who enjoy the projects you are involved in, but probably for you too. That is because I'm sure you enjoy programming/investigating the psp.
I understand that the Pandora's Betrayal must be very hurtful specially for the ones who developed it(including you) but also for the psp users. What would have happen if you had release this after the psp slim launch?we'll never know. But those who betray others will get what they gave, sooner or later, you can be sure of that. In any case, you are one of the bests psp devs, one in a million. Does this betrayal deserves that you quit?you sure?. If it was because of your fatherhood i would just say "congratulations and well done", but in this case i don't agree with you (i know you don't care), and you can be sure that i have been betrayed in worse aspects of life than working.I know i won't stop you so i will stop telling you all this stuff. Incredible work fanjita, i sincerely wish you the best of luck whatever you do!!. Comment (1)
Many, many thanks for all your time and hard work in making the homebrew scene such a fun place to be.
The best of luck in everything you do, (especially with the new arrival!). You'll be missed. PokeDad -~- (Lee Whittingham) Comment (1)

Mr. Fanjita farewell! I fully understand your actions, I too would leave the scene if I was betrayed like that by people that you gave your trust to. When I first started taking interest in hacking the PSP, I just knew about you and DAX, now both of the dev's which i look up to are now gone... but you will never be forgotten. May you enjoy life to the fullest, especially with the bundle of joy you are about to receieve. God bless

thanks alot for your time and great work on PSP hacking. i really hope you will treat this as a break rather than retire. god bless.
to the leaker: pls muster up all your courage admit your own mistake. didn't your mum teach you not to betray your friends? Comment (1)
Hey Fanjita! I totally understand your reasons. It's very sad that you have to leave because some people who betrayed your trust, but once you're betrayed, it becomes really difficult continuing to work along with the traitors.
You will be missed. You are the one who inspire me to go further in the PSP Dev Scene. Good luck with your future projects, and also in fatherhood Comment (1)
I got nothing but respect for you, because of you my psp is VERY worn

....its sad to see yet another person leaving the scene for the same reason that most do. The world is full of greedy and lazy ass-hats...speaking of which...that reminds me to pull our official forums from nintendo-scene
Thanks man for all your contributions LJ Team Symbiote Comment (1)
It's a dark day in the PSP scene...after DAX u...n all b'coz of those filthy dumb ass traitors...now what...guess after everyone quits i'll play hockey with ma PSP.

You are one of the earliest still surviving original psp exploiters, so well done for getting this far! Even in the early days when you were working on FW 2.0 hacks you gave out help to the community to try and urge things along. It is a disgrace that people are sometimes monsters like they have been it seems to you (although I was not aware of this ever happening as I haven't been playing much attention to the psp field of late). Your hard work paid off so people could enjoy what they paid for with their psp's, so always think back as doing a good thing rather than being let down by fellow people.
Enjoy the rest of your life Comment (1)
DEAR FANJITA,
Hi it is a great loss for the PSP Community that you are leaving. I know it is hard for what happened on the PANDORA. I am hoping that it the near future we may still see you back on the scene. Hopefully this wont be the end of our Famous Fanjita. The person behind for various PSP CFW Developments. I hope we arent saying goodbye but saying "take a good rest for the time being" and for the Future we would be love seeing you back on the PSP again. From all the people throught the world WE THANK YOU VERY MUCH FANJITA Thanks and may our GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS ================= Edmund Dantes Dubai, UAE Comment (1)
The upmost respect to you, I will continue to be a silent worshiper of you. Thank you so much for all your goodness. I continue to pursue places like e-bay to ban users that would exploit your work for profit. Gratz on being a Daddy. Man you're going to be busy.

What to say?
Your reasons are well based and nobody can object to these argumentations: if you can't trust your teammates, there is no team! Since I'm going to be father in the next months too, I understand and respect your decision. I'd like to thank you for all your efforts in the PSP scene, your name will not be forgot, I'm pretty sure of this! Once again, thanks for everything mate and best wishes for yours and your family's future, these are the things that really worth! P.S.: sorry for my poor english! Comment (1)
Thank from France for all your work. Sorry that you find trouble in this adventure. I hope, and lot of French user i guess, you can find more pleasure in your future work. Thank
